    OBIT: SEVEN MILE FORD, Va. – Dallas Bane Blevins, age 86, passed away Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006, at his home. Mr. Blevins was born in Washington County, Va., to the late S.E. and Della Pennington Blevins, and was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Martin; two grandchildren, Kim Watrud and Susan Martin; and three brothers, Alden Blevins, Ward Blevins, Otis Blevins. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II and was a life member of the Francis Marion VFW Post 4667. He was a former deputy with the Smyth County Sheriff's Department and had owned a store in Seven Mile Ford and one on St.Clairs Creek. Mr. Blevins was a member and deacon of Middle Fork Baptist Church.
    -Survivors include wife of 65 years, Burlie Powers Blevins; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kennard and Nancy Blevins, Chilhowie, and Randall and Pam Blevins, Marion; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Glenn "Pete" Miller, Bristol Virginia; son-in-law, Carel Martin, Chilhowie; one brother, Neal Blevins, Asheboro, N.C.; one sister, Mabel Gobble, Chilhowie; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and special friend and caregiver, Tammy DeBord.
    -Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4, 2006, at the Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel in Marion, with Rev. Roscoe Greer and Rev. Lloyd Sheets officiating. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Grosses Creek Cemetery, with Rev. Jerry Creasy officiating. Full military honors will be rendered by the Francis Marion VFW Post 4667. The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.Flowers will be appreciated or memorial donations can be made to the Middle Fork Baptist Church, P.O.       OBIT Joe D. Pennington---LIBERTY - Joe David Pennington, 69, of Hustonville, died Thursday at University of Kentucky Medical Center. Born June 20, 1937, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Andrew C. and Lena Allen Pennington. He was an employee of Phillips Lumber Co. and Wolford and Wethington Saw Mills.
      Survivors include his wife, Ruby Addington Pennington; two daughters, Diana Elliott of Liberty and Essie Phillips of Moreland; two brothers, W.C. Pennington of Liberty and Vernon Pennington of Clarksville, Ind.; six sisters, Louvina Hamm of Franklin, Ind., Eugena Clements of Ottawa, Ill., Ivadean Helm and Brenda Goode, both of Liberty, Opal M. Clements of Dunnville and Katheryn Wethington of Columbia; and two grandchildren.
      Services are 2 p.m. today at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Clifford DeHart and G.W. Smith. Burial will be in Whited Cemetery. Visitation is after 8 a.m. today.

      Joe David Pennington of Hustonville died Thursay, Aug. 24, 2006 at University of Kentucky Medical Center. He was 69.
      Born in Casey County on June 20, 1937, he was a son of the late Andrew Claxton and Lena Allen Pennington.
      He was a sawmill employee.
      Survivors include his wife, Ruby Addington Pennington; two daughters, Diana Elliott of Liberty and Essie Phillips of Moreland; two brothers, W.C. Pennington of Liberty and Vernon Pennington of Indiana; six sisters, Louvina Hamm of Indiana, Annie Clements of Illinois, Ivadean Helm and Brenda Goode, both of Liberty, Opal Clements of Dunnville and Kathryn Wethington of Columbia; and two grandchildren.
      He was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Pennington.
      Funeral services were August 20 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Bro. Clifford Dehart and Bro. G.W. Smith. Burial was in Whited Cemetery.
      Pallbearers were Diana Elliott, Ronald Morgan, Doug Wolford, Deward Davis, Robbie and Joey Wethington, Tim Hatter and J.L. Coe.
      Honorary pallbearers were his fellow loggers throughout the years.

    OBIT : Helen Pennington, 92, of Spurlington Road in Campbellsville died at 10 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006, in Campbellsville.Daughter of the late Sherman Belton and Alice Wethington Belton, she was born in Casey County, Ky., on Aug. 29, 1913. She was a member of Mannsville Christian Church. She was married to Vance Pennington on July 3, 1937. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1998. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Johnnie and Dorothy Pennington of Mannsville, Ky.; a daughter, Margaret Gabehart of Lebanon, Ky.; seven grandchildren, Bridgett Rodgers, Barry Pennington, Terry Pennington and Brad Pennington, all of Campbellsville, Robby Gabehart and Kevin Gabehart, both of Lebanon, and Derrick Roberts of Georgetown, Ky.; and 10 great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Pennington, Olivia Pennington, Cailie Rodgers, Grant Rodgers, Christopher Rodgers and Clint Rodgers, all of Campbellsville, Brittany Luster of Berea, Ky., Joshua Gabehart and Samantha Ryan, both of Lebanon, and Ashton Miller of Georgetown. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Myra Roberts on March 19, 2001. Funeral was Tuesday, Aug. 29 at Parrott and Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Bros. Jimmie Knifley, Richard McKinley and Dennis Abell officiated. Burial was in Brookside Mausoleum.     Emmett Clair "E.C." Pennington of Liberty died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005 at the Casey County Hospital. He was 93.
    Born in Virginia on August 9, 1912, he was a son of the late William Chester and Nellie Cole Pennington.
    He was a farmer, U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Liberty United Methodist Church.
    Survivors include his wife, Edna Davis Pennington; three sons, E.C. (and Linda) Pennington of Burlington, George (and Sheila) Pennington of Nortonville, and Jodie (and Melinda) Pennington of Arkansas; a daughter, Judy (and Tony) Emerson of Liberty; a sister, Virginia Cochran of Indiana; a stepbrother, James C. Newsome of Ohio; seven grandchildren, Tonya Lawson, Emmett, Jared, Sara and Clay Pennington, Christie Carlton and Ellen Steinmiller; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by eight brothers, Jessie, Claxton, Vance, William "Boss", Wilson, Kirby, Joe Robert and Johnnie Pennington; three sisters, Phoebe Pennington, and two stillborn infants.
    Funeral services will be today (Dec. 28) at 2 p.m. at Liberty United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bruce Lee officiating. Burial will be in Whited Cemetery with military rites by the Casey County Honor Guard.
    Pallbearers will be Donnie, Jared, Jim, Emmett and Clay Pennington, Luaird Riddle, Heath Carlson and Donald Thomas.
    Honorary pallbearers will be Tonya and Kim Lawson, Christie Carlson, Ashley and Sara Pennington and Brian and Ellen Steinmiller.

      PENNINGTON, WILLIAM C., JR., 66, of Moncks Corner, SC, formerly of Louisville, passed away Sunday at Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet, SC. He was a retired employee of General Electric, a Navy veteran and a former member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Dixie Post #220 and Veterans of Foreign Wars, a member of the National Hunting & Fishing Association and a Kentucky Colonel.
      He was preceded in death by his parents, William C. Boss Sr. and Leslie Boo (Campbell) Pennington, and a brother, Mick Pennington. Survivors include his wife, the former Linda Wethington; a daughter, Sarah Hildenbrand (Steve); a son, Sam Pennington; two brothers, Jim and Dale Pennington; and six grandchildren, Charlie Pennington, Laura Pennington, Holly Hildenbrand, Cody Pennington, Hannah Pennington and Nick Hildenbrand.
      His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 6105 S. 3rd St., with burial in Lebanon (KY) National Cemetery.
